Slowing Down…

Near the end of September, I put in a request for 2 (two) more months of nice calm weather, with mild temps and no snow.

So far…so GOOD! The weather Gods have blessed us generously…and I am grateful.

It has given me more time to harvest ALL the seed and allow it to dry down slowly in my greenhouses (and home). The roots on the other hand, needed to be moved where temps. did not go below freezing. Too many nights where temps dropped down just a little too much for my liking and I wasn’t going to heat a whole big GH just for them. Sooo I moved most into my smaller one. This way I could be assured no harm/damage came to them and I had enough quality specimens for next year. Also the smaller space allowed better temp. monitoring, with less hydro consumption.

In all it was a decent year and I was able to accumulate quite an assortment of various vegetables.
